Iran's Peyman Maadi is awarded Best Director at 2018 Bogazici Film Festival in Turkey for his film 'Bomb a Love Story'.

Iranian actor and director Peyman Maadi has been awarded Best Director at 2018 Bogazici Film Festival in Turkey for his film 'Bomb a Love Story'.

Maadi was awarded the Best Director in an International Feature Film at the sixth edition of Bogazici Film Festival in Istanbul on Saturday.

'Bomb a Love Story' depicts romance in the war stricken Iran in the late 80s.

It is about Tehran, the Iranian capital, under bomb attacks with terror prevails in the city.

It shows how love and emotions, life and hope wash away the horrific image of the war.

Leila Hatami is among the cast members of the flick.

Maadi expressed his pleasure at receiving the award, saying "I am glad to be here in the lovely city of Istanbul".

He also expressed his hope for a cooperation with Istanbul in the field of film industry.

Bogazici Film Festival also known as the International Bosphorus Film Festival aims to provide a contribution to the development of ethics, aesthetics and technical cohesive movies.

The festival kicked off on October 26 and wrapped up on November 3.
